About

I’m a qualified English/Portuguese technical and legal translator with over 12 years of experience in translation, localization, and project and quality management. I’m a native speaker of Portuguese and highly fluent in English having studied and worked in several English-speaking countries.

I hold a BA in Modern Languages with Linguistics and Translation Studies from the University of Porto, Portugal, and I’m a Certified Localization Professional (The Localization Institute) since 2008.

I have extensive work experience both as a self-employed professional and as part of multinational internal translation teams. In addition, I completed several certification and professional training courses to further expand my knowledge of technology, project management, and localization and translation tools. I’m fully competent in a wide range of CAT tools, including SDL Studio and MemoQ, and I have delivered large translation and localization projects on schedule/on budget and in alignment with clients’ requirements.

After many years dedicated exclusively to translation and localization, I decided to complement it with project management relying on the experience gained from successfully managing my own projects and from outsourcing work to other translators.

I’m currently a member of ATA (American Translators Association) and APTRAD (Portuguese Association of Translators and Interpreters).
